Eduardo Verástegui

Eduardo Verástegui was born in Xicontencatl Tamaulipas Mexico. He has led quite a number of interesting career twists. He started studying law but ended up modeling instead in Mexico city, which in turn led him to work for famous designers such as Calvin Klein and Versace. In 1994, his modeling career turned into a singing one, as he became a member of the Mexican pop group Kairo- where he played sold out concerts in a four-year tour throughout Latin America.

In 1997, still with a successful music career in his wing, he started acting in Mexican telenovelas produced by Televisa, a powerhouse production company in Mexico. The soaps he starred in were also quite successful, being televised in over 50 countries, and by more than 10 million viewers in the U.S., and even breaking records in television ratings in major markets.

In 2001, he focused on his music career again, where he signed a recording contract as a solo artist with Universal Music Latino-- and recorded his first self-titled album. In 2003, he again jumped back to acting, where he was chosen as a lead character in the Latin Comedy film, which grossed over $12 million globally. Despite this success, Verástegui decided to only do “meaningful” films, because he wanted to touch people's hearts.

To date, Verástegui enjoys his success as one of the fastest rising Latino stars, and was once voted by People en Español as one of the 50 Most Beautiful people in the World, and has completed his latest film, Bella, in 2006.
